The
origin of The Lost Moonflower:
"When
I grow up, can I become a priest?"
To my niece who asked this, I pointed out the
Church's teaching that women cannot be
priests. Then she asked if she could
become a deacon; she read about Phoebe,
mentioned as a deaconess in the Bible.
My research on the topic convinced me that
women's equality and her freedom were a high
priority on Jesus' agenda. He did much
to raise women without status so as to make
them feel their dignity. Women aspiring
to greater heights on all levels of
leadership, which has become a significant
sign of our time, was spawned within the
Church. The Lost Moonflower
revisits the hurricane that bred the tidal
wave of female consciousness reshaping our
culture.
I
hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I
enjoyed writing it.
